So!

So! The Deschutes Defenders ExSec Team threw a little shade at Young Spooky on the last page, and he then threw a whole moon-sized amount back! I’m sure that will never come back to bite him in the ass. At least it seems like they are letting him walk off.

What do y’all think about Spooky’s little performance here? Do you think he’ll keep Flyboy from being discovered? And what will he do for an encore?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  1. And I guess you could say, the only thing standing between you and the forces of Hell.

  2. I LOVE IT

    'nuff said

  3. I see someone else has picked up on the "nuff said’ " bit! Yep. The last panel. “Nuff’ said’” and was that a snap of the fingers? LMAO in my chair! Loved it Alex!

Oh, I do so love an Ironic Echo™. :sunglasses:

  5. Thank you, Dave. I’m glad you liked that.

    Yay!

It was indeed a finger snap. Something that Adam added in the 1st pass pencils and I thought was fun,

Glad you like the page, William!

And I love learning an awesome new term. Ironic echo…

Yes, excellent exit line. Maybe it’ll bite him in the ass later and maybe not. For all I know, this sort of verbal sparring is standard with supers, like poking something with a stick to see how solid it is, and they might even respect him for standing up for himself. Like, I hope there’s no ill will, since present day Spooky might actually need their help, since he just got stabbed. But, I’m, uh, hoping he’ll be unstabbed by the time they show up, and it’s kinda obvious how that can happen.

By the way, I like the mention of “powered agents”. I’ve been wondering about that, if many, if not half of the superheroes are just normal athletic humans with good weapons and tech support. And if there’s a classism issue, akin to colorism, where powered agents and teched agents are treated differently within the hero communities. If that’s so, that might mean that The Young Protectors is a bit unusual in that they have no tech agent members, or they might have a bias against techers that they haven’t even dealt with yet.

It’s from The Great Time Sink™ (a.k.a. TV Tropes. )

  8. Throwing their words right back at 'em, that’s mah boyyy
I’d watch out though, someone might still tail him to Mitch…

  9. Very good point.

Indeed there are a number of agents like that. Many are like Tom Hastings, handlers and investigators, but there are those in the field as well.

    Sounds plausible to me.

Interesting things to think about.

    But, of course.

Another good point. Is Spooky right that they will be occupied and distracted? Or is he underestimating them?
