Should I stay or should I go now?

The only reason I’m able to keep making The Young Protectors is because of the very generous support of readers like you on Patreon. So, I want to to send out a very special thank you and welcome to the new members of the Woolfpack this week!

LadyBurton, Odin and Emily S.

And I’d also like to thank a totally awesome reader who was already a Patron, but who upped their pledge this week:

So! Spooky wants Cory to join the fight! But Cory is a total newbie, and the last time he used his powers he nearly ripped an entire city apart. Is Spooky right? If Cory goes, will there be trouble? And if he stays… will it be double? Come on and let me know in the Comments!

And tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  1. Of course Cory might be involved, how could there even have been a possibility that it won’t be discussed :joy:

    So Spooky wants him to back up Mitch but Cory and Mitch don’t want him involved. I gotta admit I’m on the youngster’s side. Cory’s control over his power might be essential in all this, so if he really can’t control it, and didn’t have training it might cause more trouble than it helps. On the other hand he’s already panicking right now and all he wants is going back to the car to safety. His mental state is just as essential. I really hope Mitch can persuade Spooky to let Cory stay in the background ;__;
He could soothe the kids after they’re saved and they might feel safer, too, if there is still another person to stay with them while Mitch leaves to save the next bunch.

  2. I have no idea how The Young Protectors are going to win this one, but I will predict that at one point, Cory is going to be tied to one of those trees before this is over.

  3. It seems like Alex put Cory in this situation for a reason, and I’m betting it’s not to sit on the sidelines. It’s his opportunity to grow, or perhaps another mishap to show him he has to learn how to control his powers. We’ll have to see where this goes.

  4. double trouble eh… TO PROTECT THE WORLD FROM DEVASTATION kick self ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶2̶B̶A̶ ̶m̶a̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶ ̶T̶e̶a̶m̶ ̶R̶o̶c̶k̶e̶t̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶n̶
puts on Jeopardy theme Decisions decisions… aaaaa back to the wait being painful D: but i have oodles of patience!! and i’m excited to find out what’ll happen

  5. Cory uncertain and insecure about how his powers manifest because of how violent the result can be. I think that’s a good thing.

  6. Cory was very much hoping to go back to the car, thank you very much.

Cory does like this suggestion, though. He just told me that he would like you to say it as loud as you can so Spooky hears you.

Now Cory is jumping up and down, flapping his arms, and shouting. Apparently he doesn’t want me to be able to hear what you just said. Could you please repeat it?

Cory says he feels he would be more likely to keep growing if he could just go back to the car, and let the real heroes fight this battle.

Cory now insists that he’d much rather face Team Rocket than The Platinum Priestess and those stabby minions. He wants you to try to convince me to turn this into a Pokemon story. The villains are apparently a lot less stabby in Pokemon.

(He doesn’t realize that if I wrote Pokemon, there would certainly be more stabbings.)

Cory thinks so too—but only if he can get Spooky to understand and believe him. He says any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

  7. ME? I was obsessing over the wrong stuff all weekend. I wrote three commentaries and threw them all out. This wasn’t my week for critical thinking. sigh :upside_down_face:
