Machine guns! This boss takes defense seriously.
While the ExSec option should always be considered, I suspect because of the magic-wielding minions involved here, they’d just punt it back to Spooky by default, no? What resources besides Spooky does ExSec have when dealing with magical threats? (Other than the Strangezoid clone of Spooky that Rex Ruthless is growing in a secret basement, of course.)
