This is an insane longshot idea, but if Mitch hasn’t drowned and if Amanda is still linked to him, could Mitch somehow advise Amanda how to resist a psychic attack? Like, I assume by Mitch’s time, they’ve practiced mock combats and figured out some mental exercises that help blunt her attacks? Maybe one has to imagine a shield, or maybe one has to think about a pleasant memory like eating chocolate or remembering a previous victory.
